Keeping in Touch with On-Line Buyer Prospects

Once you have lead names coming in from your website, you’ll need an e-mail drip system to keep in touch with them until they are ready to buy.  Remember, web prospects start looking on-line much earlier than traditional buyer leads start looking, so you need to keep in touch with them.

Here are some contact methods:

  1. If they gave you a phone number, make your first contact by phone, but remember not to over sell.  Make the call a chance to introduce yourself, especially since they may have gone to many web sites.  You also want to make sure to verify their contact information.  Make sure this call is about them…and not you.

  2. Of you don’t have their phone number, your first contact has to be by e-mail.  It should be similar to the phone call, but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t turn into a conversation, as they may not respond to it.

  3. You can reverse the order of 1 and 2 only if you have the ability to use an auto-responder.  Do not use an auto-responder for this if you can only create one auto-responder.  To be effective, you have to make an auto-responder that sounds like you were sitting at your computer and just got their information and wrote an e-mail response on the spot.  This gives you the best chance at being the first one who responds to them.

  4. A drip e-mail system is a great tool to keep your name in front of they buyer prospects.  I’ve tried several different things, but am now sending them as an on-line newsletters with a simple “plain text” e-mail (the same way you got this article).  Using plain text allows your e-mail to get through some spam blockers.  Delivery via a newsletter will increase the importance of your e0mail to the prospect.

  5. If the prospect has not signed up for your new listing notification service, be sure to offer the service as often as possible.

  6. Once they are on the new listing notification system, contact them directly periodically to see if they have found anything of interest.

I hope that this will help you keep many more buyer prospects loyal to you..
