| ….and a probably lot more! |
There are many different ways you can use direct mail. To make sure your mailing has a better chance of being read, you should always use first class postage and avoid the use of mailing labels. You may think your mailings are very important, but to the people who receive them they are “junk mail”. Your goal should be to make it look less like “junk mail”.
Here are a few types of direct mail:
Letters A letter on nice letterhead is good for when you really want to make a good impression. A letter is also good when you want to make sure it is read only by the person you are sending it to or when you have a lot of information to send the person.
Post Cards The best thing about post cards is that you have a better chance of being noticed and read between the mail box and the trash can! Post cards are great!
Self-Mailer A tri-fold brochure can make an excellent self-mailer. Like a post card, much of your message can be seen easily.
Response Card A response card, such as one requesting a “Free CMA” can be mailed inside of other mailings.
Specialty Mailings When working on hard to reach high-end prospects, you might consider mailing something completely different, like a special gift with your message attached.
