What About Those Lead Generation Companies???

 

There are a lot of the lead generation companies on the internet.   

House Values.  

Service Magic.  

Favorite Agent. 

Just Listed.

That's just a few of them.  It sure sounds a lot easier to pay their fee to get leads than to go to all of the work that I've described in the previous articles.  But I would not recommend going that route.

Why?

#1.  If you are using these companies, you are still a lead receiver instead of a lead generator.  You are still giving the power to someone else.

#2.  Based on what I have heard, the quality of their leads are not usually very good.  There are some stories of agents who have done well with them, but there are more from people who have bad luck.

#3.  They all want your credit card numbers to sign up and there have been many horror stories of how hard it is to get them to stop billing your credit card even if you follow the guidelines for canceling or believe their upfront promises.

#4.  They are not good for our industry.  They are people looking for a fast buck by branding themselves as "experts" when in reality they are only positioning themselves to get between us and our prospects.  If they are successful with this, they will make the average commission of real estate professionals go down!

#5.  The reality is that most of these companies will fail as the word gets out about them.  And we all need to let everyone in our offices know about them so they all will fail.

So what is the alternative?

Become a lead generator yourself.
