How to Make Money from Your Web Site

After you’ve realized you need a website and figured out what you want your website to be, the next step is to learn how to make money off of your website.  No matter which type of site you want, the main goal should be to make money from the site!

  1. Make sure buyers and sellers can find your web site.  Put your domain name on all of your other marketing.  Optimize it for the search engines.

  2. Make sure you have content that will draw buyers and sellers back to your web site.

  3. Remember, buyers want to find homes for sale.  Your link to listings should be prominent on your site.

  4. You should have many reasons for prospects to contact you and it should be easy for them to contact you.

  5. Your contact information should be easy to find.

  6. Continually add new content to your web site.

  7. Use Calls to Action and Response Forms on as many pages as possible. There are two opinions on whether to require registration or not on your website (or for your IDX search).  There are those who swear that it works great for them and others who say it runs people from your site.  The best advise I can give is test various ways of getting names and contact information to see what works.

  8. Do not use your broker’s IDX for your web site.  Once a prospect goes off of your site to the broker’s search and gives their name, the lead becomes a company lead.  You’ll probably never know that they were even on your site.
