ePro Certification from the National Association of REALTORS®

I'm writing this article because I'm amazed that so many real estate professionals I've talked to (who are members of the National Association of REALTORS®), who have never heard of the e-PRO Certification.

I completed the ePro Certification several years ago.  I would highly recommend it to any real estate professional who expects to continue in real estate in the future.  That sounds like a strong statement since only 10-15% of REALTORS® nationally have taken the course and have the certification.

I believe in the e-PRO Certification so much, that I became a Certified e-PRO Trainer so I could tell others about it.  It wasn't an easy process.  It took several months, but now I am one of a very few trainers who have been named as Certified e-PRO Trainers by the National Association of REALTORS®.  At the time I named a Certified e-PRO Trainer, there were only 52 other people who can give the "Introduction to e-PRO" seminar.  If you'd like to bring this to your office, please contact me.   To learn more about the e-PRO Certification Course, please go to my e-PRO Trainer page.

Here are a few reasons why those who don't take the ePRO Certification course will have problems in the future:

#1.  As technology takes a larger and larger role in real estate, they may well be "left in the dust" by people who are using technology to help them.

#2.  They may waste a lot of money on technology that doesn't work right for you.

I learned that the National Association of REALTORS® is the first professional trade organization to create an technology certification program.  If the travel agency trade organization (if there is one) had created a training like this, their industry might not been in the shape it is now.  And there are people that want to do the same thing to our industry.  If we don't learn how to use technology to help us in our business, they will win.

Don't worry, you don't have to be a "techie" to take the course and it won't turn you into a "techie".

Here's an overview of the 4 modules contain:

Module 1 is an overview of the internet.  It does contain some tech hints that may be new to you even if you use a lot of technology.  And for those of you who are completely mystified by the internet terms will gain a lot of knowledge and self confidence.

Module 2 is about e-mail communications and marketing.

Module 3 is about internet marketing, publishing, service and support.

Module 4 is about putting the internet and technology to work for you, virtual communities and tools of the trade.  It also gives you the model for starting your own Technology Plan that will keep you from making expensive mistakes.

NOTE:  Since I took the course, I understand that it has had a lot of updating, including information on blogs and an optional exercise in starting your own free blog.
